The beauty of a woman – Teresa Mahieu

The beauty of a woman
Is not in the clothes she wears,
The figure that she carries,
Or the way she combs her hair.

The beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes,
Because that is the doorway to her heart,
The place where love resides.
The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole
But true beauty in a woman is reflected in her soul.

It is the caring that she lovingly gives,
The passion that she shows,
And the beauty of a woman
With passing years only grows!

A woman whose smile is open and whose expression is glad has a kind of beauty no matter what she wears.
Anne Roiphe

People are like stained – glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in, their true beauty is revealed only if there is a light from within.
Elisabeth Kubler-Ross

    • Hi Teresa

Here is some information for you.

Hi Teresa! I chair the Board of Directors for Belle Voci Intergenerational Choir of Pittsburgh (www.bellevocipgh.com) and we would like to commission a choral composer to write a selection
for a choir for which Craig G. Cannon is the musical director. Belle Voci uses choral performances as a means for social good, and supports causes that primarily benefit women. This musical piece will be
premiered at our spring concert on May 13, 2017 from which proceeds will benefit the non-profit Susan G. Komen agency, which supports breast cancer research and education.

For the text of the commissioned choral work, we would like to use your (Teresa Mahieu’s) poem, “The
Beauty of a Woman.” Please reply with a post reply to me here or send directly to Belle Voci on the contact us page of our website at: http://www.bellevocipgh.com/fo… Thank you very much.
