We need to take care of our skin in order for it to remain beautiful and glowing. There are different ways to make sure that our skin stays beautiful including eating the right foods, drinking enough water, using products that are good for our skin. One of the best ways to retain beautiful skin is by cleansing it. There are great cleansers out there but some of them strip your skin of too much of its natural oil and leave it too dry.
Natural skin cleansers are usually gentle on your skin plus you have the advantage of knowing exactly what you are using. For all these cleansers make sure you wash your face first before using them. This helps clear out the dirt on the surface and allows for maximum cleansing.
1. COCONUT OIL
Coconut oil has antimicrobial properties which will eliminate moisture loss. Massage the oil on your skin for 30 seconds, and then apply a warm towel to open your poses then after about a minute then remove the oil by using a washcloth.
2. NATURAL YOGURT
It has lactic acid, fats and proteins which together help to detoxify skin. It’s great for exfoliation and gets rid of dead cells. The protein is also good for tightening pores; it is great for hydration and reduces the appearance of line lines.
Also, use plain yoghurt with lemon juice. Mix a teaspoon of lemon juice and a tablespoon of yoghurt. Massage into your skin then wash it off with warm water.
Put a thin layer of plain yoghurt on your skin and massage, this will loosen any makeup or dirt. Then wash off after a couple of minutes.
3. APPLE CIDER VINEGAR
Apple cider vinegar – this helps to restore your skin’s PH and also soothes out breakouts. It also opens up clogged pores. Wash your face. For this mixture mix 1 part vinegar with 2 parts water. Use a cotton ball or pad. Apple Cider Vinegar is also good because it doesn’t leave your face too dry or oily.
4. USE GRAINS
You can create a scrub which will exfoliate and clean the skin. Use almonds or oats. Grind them into a fine powder and mix with a liquid. For dry skin use mix with milk, cream and yoghurt. For normal skin use water, glycerin, honey and peppermint tea. For oily skin use lemon juice or water.
5. HONEY
Honey and lemon.
Both these ingredients are natural moisturizers and antiseptic. Lemons kill acne-causing bacteria. The enzymes also clear away dead skin. Honey is full of antioxidants and it is also antibacterial. Honey works on acne and is also good for slowing down ageing.
Use one teaspoon of fresh lemon juice with two teaspoons of honey. Smooth a thin layer on your face and neck. Let it dry then rinse with warm water.
Honey with baking soda.
You can also cleanse with the honey alone. Honey with a little baking soda can be used to remove makeup by putting it onto a wet washcloth. Then remove it with warm water.
Honey with milk/cream
You can also mix honey with cream or milk as a cleanser for dry skin.
6. OLIVE OIL FACE CLEANSER
It is a natural cleanser and moisturizer for dry skin. It has antioxidants and good fats which help reduce free radicals. It is also good for irritated skin.
For this use ¼ cup of vinegar, half a ½ cup of olive oil, and a ¼ cup of water. This is good for killing bacteria, making your skin smoother and cleaner and lightening dark spots.
7. NATURAL OILS
Use oils that have a high percentage of linoleic acid like safflower, rosehip, and hemp. These help reduce blemishes by protecting the surface of your skin. Use oils like almond, wheat germ and avocado oils, rich in fatty acids which help fight ageing and which are nourishing. Grapeseed and safflower help regulate oil production. You can also use castor oil.
Apply on your face, massage using circular motions, and cover your face with a warm washcloth for a few minutes to open the pores. Then wash.
