I don’t know about you but breakfast is usually my least favorite meal. That’s because it’s a meal of necessity. I only eat breakfast so that I have the energy to start the day and I don’t feel hungry later. However, after a quick internet search, I realized that breakfast does not have to be so boring. I found a few recipes and tried them at home and I found that breakfast can be an exciting meal. It’s also important to me that it does not take too long to make because let’s face facts who really has that much time in the morning.
French toast. Instead of the same boring old bread switch it up with a little French toast. All you have to do is beat an egg in a bowl, add a teaspoon of cinnamon and vanilla essence and a tablespoon of milk. Then dip a slice of bread in the egg and fry the bread on both sides. French toast goes great with a sweet spread such as jam or honey.
Savory oatmeal. If you like savory dishes as opposed to sweet dishes this is the breakfast meal for you. First, you cook the oatmeal by boiling them in water (check the box for more detailed instructions). Once the oats are ready add salt and pepper. You can fry an egg to add to the oatmeal and add cheese. This meal is healthy and packed with nutrients.
Avocado and egg sandwich. This is the simplest meal to make. All you have to do is smash the avocado then add salt, pepper, and a little lemon or vinegar. Spread the avocado over two slices of bread then fry an egg and put it in between the slices of bread. Trust me you will be thinking about this meal the whole day.
Granola and fruits in yoghurt. This meal is great if you are on a diet and it is easy and quick to make. You can also make the granola at home to save you money. You can find the recipe for granola here. Add fruits that are high in energy such as bananas, apples, and oranges to give you maximum energy in the morning.
Egg breakfast muffin. If you really want to impress your family or even yourself then this is the meal to do it. Beat eggs with some cheese, spinach, bacon or cooked sausage and add salt and pepper as desired. Then put it in a muffin baking tin and bake for about 15 to 20 minutes. I would advise that you check on it frequently otherwise, it can burn really quickly. The muffins can last up to a week in the fridge so you can eat them throughout the week.
Breakfast does not need to be a boring meal. Start your day off well with a great meal and it just might change your life. If you have any simple breakfast recipes please share with us in the comment section below.
